Used in excellent condition with cosmetic defects as displayed in images. One ding in the front and a larger area on the back. They have been filled with clear, so you cannot feel the defects when you run your hand over them. The clear has been buffed out and is nice and shiney.
Get ready for huge sounds from three single coils used in a very interesting new take on that classic combination. All three pickups are at an angle like the bridge pickup normally is. The middle pickup has been shifted closer to the bridge pickup. The five position switch gives you the following tones:
- neck pickup
- all three pickups
- neck+middle pickups in parallel
- middle pickup
- middle+bridge pickups in series (sounds like a sweet humbucker)
Action is on the low side of medium on the slim, comfortable “C”-shaped roasted maple neck with a 12”-radius Indian Laurel fingerboard with jumbo frets. Hard tail bridge. Black painted headstock with chrome logo. Black hardware with split-shaft tuners. Sculpted neck heel.
This guitar can not be sold as new due to the guitar being professionally refurbished by MIRC in Franklin, TN. The original serial number has been replaced with a new serial number to track the guitar through MIRCs system. It has also been stamped "used" on the back of the headstock. As mentioned in the first paragraph of the listing, there are visible cosmetic defects. One small ding in the top and multiple scrapes on the back. They have all been filled with clear coat to be smooth with the finish of the guitar.
This guitar has been professionally set up by one of MIRC's top-notch techs. Once it arrived in our shop, it was tweaked just a bit more. Every player is different and some may want to change the setup to reflect their own playing style. When buying any guitar online, it is always wise to factor in the cost of having the instrument set up by a local tech to meet your own preferences.
This guitar has never been owned by a consumer. There is no fret wear, sweat stains, or weird smell to worry about. It has traveled from the factory that manufactured it to the company that ordered it to MIRC, where it was refurbished, to our shop. The customer who buys it from us will be the first consumer to own it.
The differences between buying a refurbished guitar and a new guitar are the warranty (there is no factory warranty on the guitar--it has the same risks associated with buying a used guitar), the new serial number, and THE PRICE. We feel the benefits of having an expert tech assess, repair, and thoroughly set up the guitar along with the reduced price far overshadow the lack of a factory warranty. Please contact us with any questions about refurbished guitars in general or this guitar specifically.
