Summertime is made for playing guitar!

Summer is the perfect time to start a new creative pursuit—and there’s no better one than learning to play guitar, bass, or ukulele. With school out and schedules a little more flexible, it’s easier than ever to commit to something that’s both fun and rewarding. Playing music builds confidence, relieves stress, and sharpens focus—and it’s a skill you can enjoy for the rest of your life. Whether you’re picking up an instrument for the first time or brushing off one that’s been sitting in the corner, summer is a great season to make real progress.

At our shop, lessons are taught by John Logan, an incredibly dedicated and experienced teacher with over 45 years of experience. He’s worked with students of all ages and skill levels, tailoring each lesson to fit individual goals and learning styles. His teaching balances music theory, proper technique, and songs the student actually enjoys—making learning both effective and enjoyable. John’s ultimate goal is simple and empowering: to help each student become confident and skilled enough to eventually teach themselves. That kind of mentorship creates not just players, but true musicians.

If you've ever thought about playing music but didn’t know where to start—or if you've hit a plateau and want to break through—this summer is your opportunity. Summer lesson slots are limited, so stop by the shop or give us a call to reserve your time with John. Let this be the summer that music becomes part of your life.

Journey back to a simpler time

Player's Gear is a local guitar shop, plain and simple. It's got cool guitars that are made to tell a story, cool amps that you can crank up, cool accessories to add to your tone pallete, and cool musicians hanging out. We cater to both experienced players and beginners. Whichever category you fit in, you can probably find something you always needed in the shop. When you come in, you can expect the environment of a classic mom and pop guitar shop. Not the biggest place in the world, but chock full of cool stuff.

The shop specializes in the eclectic and the funky. If you're looking for stuff that doesn't quite fit into the mix at the massive guitar emporiums, you've found a new cool place to buy gear. We have hand-wired pedals, hand-built amps, cool wall art, and can hook you up with some cool guitar mods. This combination makes for a broad spectrum of instruments and effects. Almost any player will find something they are looking for.

Or maybe you've found yourself saying: "I used to love the way this guitar played (or sounded). Now, it doesn't have the feel or sound it used to."

Often, when your guitar doesn't sound as good as it used to or has gotten hard to play, it is just a sign that it's time to get it serviced. If it used to sound/play good, then it can do so again. The shop offers a variety of services to keep your instrument playing smooth. CLICK HERE to check out some of the rates for common maintenance and repairs.
